EuroTrip : The Euro Adventure................ the story of a life time

Start - was with my father, in Delhi first time in 22 years, still wasn't able to see anything. We were waiting for my friends along whom I was going to a distant land far far away (:P), where you will see green fields all over, no sign of dust, usually cold, but this is the time of summer out there, yes we are going to Denmark, on our summer internship.

This was also my first time when I am going to board a plane, I was quite excited about it, on my first flight I was going out of my country, couldn't believe it myself, couldn't have been better then this. My father left for home after meeting with my friends (let's name them as Mr. L and his father.  We both Scheduled to reach airport by 10:30pm and Mr. S whose is the third from my batch going to Denmark this year for intern, another guy Mr. D who was also going for intern in the same university is scheduled to come in June. But as you know the Indian standard time, we reached at the airport around 11:20pm, on the contrary Mr. S to our surprise reached way before us. To clarify, he never made anywhere in time, what so ever be the issue. but today he was way ahead in time, mainly because of his parents.

Our flight was at 2 am in the morning of 4th May, around midnight we went inside for check-in and collected our boarding pass. As this was first time for all of us at an airport, we searched for the Austrian airlines counter, took some time but we found it not too late. We checked in our heavy bags, still had a lot with us, you know what I mean [traveling the Indian way... :)]. We strolled through the airport for some time, got some Euro exchange for our Vienna trip. For your information there is no direct flight from Delhi to Copenhagen (till that time, as far as I know), so we took a 11 hours gap between connecting flight from Delhi to Vienna and from Vienna to Copenhagen, so that we can go around Vienna [as our flight from Delhi to Vienna, was scheduled to arrive at 6am (Vienna time) in the morning at Vienna, and we had a Schengen Visa, that's why we planned to have a long break there]...

Vienna.................. Ranked no. 1 for living standards in the world (till that day, may be :P)

We reached Vienna around 6am, 4th May, we stayed in airport till 7am. After that we started searching for some transportation. Couldn't find one till we figured out that, only luxury buses and taxi (Mercedes cars) runs from airport to city. So finally we decided to hire a taxi, we got a deal of Euro-29.5 , cheapest we can find. We reached the city center by 7:40am than we started going around the places, first stop was Hougbaan palace, got a student discount there(over all ticket Euro-24, we got it for Euro-20). We visited the palace, for about an hour, than we started the real "gali-2 ghoomo abhiyaan (roaming street by street)", from one street to another, on foot. We went to see the parliament (from outside), a very beautiful church and some two-three small but beautiful gardens. By that time we were like starving, we started searching for some good restaurant there, of course I was the one most concerned, being vegetarian itself puts you in a tight spot in Europe, specially in Austria.

Somehow we found a ok type restaurant and from then on we never tried to convert our food bills in rupees, believe me you would be more happier that way. After having a walk-able lunch we again went to some place, there was one place where preparations were going on for a concert. Suddenly 2 girls came and asked Mr. S for a cigarette which he gave to them with NSA. than we started searching for a way back to airport, we were completely in trouble, had no idea of what that place is called and when it is German all over the place (sign boards, maps, people), it was like a no man's land for us. Finally we recalled about the CAT, the train service for fast travel between city center and airport, so we started searching for the CAT station and we ended up walking around 2kms until we reached one. Finally bought a ticket of Euro-9 and we were back at the airport around 3:50pm. Our flight to Copenhagen was around 5pm, we went inside, ate something to satisfy ourselves, got nothing but only chocolate or Ice cream.

This was our first day of Euro trip, Vienna was truly wonderful, I had never seen such a green and clean city, I thought by far it is the best place to live in, it is ranked no. 1 on the list of best city to live in the world. Our flight was on schedule, we boarded the flight and headed for the destination Copenhagen.

To be continued..........!!!
