Day 1 : Copenhagen.........

We reached Copenhagen, around 7:30pm, 4th May. Mr. A our landlord, was already there, as we requested him to come to airport to pick us. He introduced us to the local transport there, as we didn't had any cash (Danish Kroner) he paid for us that time. We got the monthly travel pass for zone 1 and 2. The thing is this that Copenhagen is divided into zones, by luck we live in zone 31 very close to zone 2 and our University was in zone 1 so we bought the pass for zone 1&2 and one clip card to travel into other zones. Mr. A told all this information to us, he is a very humble, hard working and easy to accommodate guy.

So using the metro, local S-train and bus service we reached to our destination - , elegardvej Gentofte. After reaching there, as we were very tired up by the long journey and also because we walked all day through Vienna, we first took a bath and ate some food prepared by bhabhi (Mr A's wife Mrs. SS). They have two kids,  Dhairya and Vihan. We were tired up by the long and most amazing journey of our lives, quickly went to our rooms and slept like we never did before. As this was our first journey, jet leg got to us,  hunting us that night.

Day 2 : Copenhagen..........5th May

I woke up at 3am, than somehow managed to sleep again than woke up at 8am, and we had some breakfast than we left for the University [ITU]. This was our first trip so we first looked in the Google map for the location, our landlord told us that it falls near the metro station Islendburg(not sure). So we prepared for the journey, we had the monthly pass for travel for zone 1 and 2. Copenhagen is divided in zones, zone 1 and 2 are the biggest and luckily we had to travel in these two zones only for home to univ. and back home. We boarded the train at Dessygard(nearest station in zone 2) and than we had to change train at Narroport station, from there we went to the Islendburg.

Then from there we walked for some time to reach the univ., Prof. CB was there to greet us, he introduced to the reception first then we went to his office and our department in ITU for introduction, than we went to get log-in for ourselves at the IT department there, than we went to i-d card department, finally we went to meet Ms. M, she was the one coordinating with us all the time, from our visa to our settlement in the university she was delighted to see us, so were we.

She then asked us to fill some papers confirming our start and our account details to put money into our India accounts, as we were out of cash, we asked them to do it asap, they also gave us a t-shirt and a broacher of ITU and some stuff, we picked this things, mean while Prof. CB got laptops for us issued by ITU, so we were very happy at least me as I was computer less (both Sharjeel and Lav had laptops). So we went to our office(3C12), in the Efficient Computing Department. Set there, adjusted the tables, and started browsing the net, talked to some friends and changed our status message in G-mail to- In Copenhagen.....

We left for home at around 4pm, in the way back we visited area around Narroport and looked for store where we can buy Sim card, there in Europe there is no need of filling forms for taking connection(prepaid), we just went to an 7Eleven grocery shop, and we got it in 48 Kroner. We also got a map of the city, so that we can go around on weekends or on weekdays when we come early. Finally we went in search of a Indian restaurant, found one near Narrebro station, the name was Tandoori Masala. We ate a little, as it was expensive, then we came back home around 8pm, Mr. A was also back by then, we chatted with them for a while, then we arranged our rooms, Mr. L and me were settled in the room upstairs, and Mr. S was in the basement room.

While Mr. L and Mr. S decided to eat outside, I decided to eat in the home, as vegetarian food was rare there and even if you found some place, it was way too expensive. We also brought some bread, butter and milk for our breakfast, so our routine there became like this- wake up at 8am, get ready. Eat breakfast and get to university by 8:50, then I use to come back home by 5pm or max 5:30pm, Mr. S and Mr. L use to come at 8pm as they use to eat at Ashiq palace in Narrebro. Then sometimes we use to make some snacks in the evening, use to chat with Mr. A and bhabhi, sometimes chats went for hours and then upload new pictures on Orkut and Picasa, and sleep tight......

So this is how first 3 days went like, we did nothing except planning about the trips, when to start. Also discussion on Euro rail pass, which one to take. Mr. A also helped us a lot in this. He gave us useful info and a guide – Europe travel plans. My Prof. came on 6th May, so I met him on Wednesday, talked about the project; he gave me a paper to read first. So all in all to summarize, what we did in first three days, we settled in the home, got to know the transport system of Copenhagen, completed the initial formalities in the university, got laptops, key to our office, some general brochure stuff, city map and a T-shirt from the university.
