Day 30 to 33: To Germany, say go………………………….

Day 30, 31:
For this week, we focused on working hard and providing some output to our guides for the work we were assigned to do.  I finally prepared a rough report on the paper I needed to review. Submitted to my guide and  got in touch with him to get some input on the review I wrote. To be true it wasn’t good at all, had to go though many things again. Anyway for these 3 days that’s all we did, after that as you can guess, we already had plans. Germany was our next destination for this weekend. The idea was to cover – Munich, Berlin and Hamburg, 3 cities in 3 days.  Though we were not sure about the final schedule, as we were going to ditch Friday, so we had to be back by Monday morning else  might sound some trouble as we already missed 4-5 weekdays.  Let’s hope everything turnout to be okay, we had the train reservation  while going from here to Munich, and on  while coming back from Hamburg to Copenhagen.

Day 32:
We were scheduled to leave at 5:10pm, on Thursday from Hoje taastrup, a local train stop far from city center. It takes about 35 mins to reach there from university.  This time we were one more in number. Mr. D, another batch mate from college, was there in ITU Copenhagen for his intern, he reached there 1 month month after we did. So this time we were 6 people – me, Mr. L, Mr. S, Mr. A Junior , and Mr. R (a banker working in Copenhagen) and Mr. D. All of us were there by 4:55pm, though train was late by few minutes, we bought some food and milk for the travel, as we were directly coming from university. As soon as the train came, we boarded it and all set to go.We chose the same method for TP (time pass), playing cards as usual. Most of the time, during our journeys, that’s the only source of entertainment available to us. So long is this journey folks, see you in Munich next day........

Day 33: Munich and Fussan, The Fairy Tale Castle……………

We reached Munich around 9am, so the plan was fist to visit the fairy tale castle which is about 30 mins by train from Munich. From station as Mr. L told us, but we got shocked when we asked for the same and to our shock the information center guy told us that the castle is in Fussan, about 2 hours train journey from here and than 30 minutes from Fussan station to Castle. All the planning was now completely tangled up. What to do now, we needed 5 + 3 hours to visit the fairy tale castle and come back in Munich in time to visit few places and catch the evening train for Berlin. But we can’t miss the castle, so we decided that we will first go to see the castle than think of something else.

We straight away left for Fussan, we reached there by 12:10pm at Fussan station, and then went directly to castle via bus, the scene that flashed though our eyes when we came out of the bus was truly out of the world. The name “Fairy Tale Castle”, it’s the perfect name for it. I am sure anyone who has seen it will agree with me. It is situated on a hill may be 300 feet above the ground level, there are two modes of transport to go up -on foot or bus/horse bullock, as you can think of we obviously went on foot. Standing just below the Swiss alps, the snow covered peaks visible from everywhere in the castle, the view is truly mesmerizing. Who ever thought and designed this castle, I believe was one of the best at that time that's for sure. As usual we clicked pics, watched the place for a while, went around did some goofy talks and then it was the time to leave. There was one more castle there to see but due to lack to time we didn't go there, we left Fussan at around 3:30pm, we reached back  Munich at around, 6:10pm, and had to pick the train scheduled at 6:35pm for Berlin.

Day 27 to 29: We are in Paris, where else would you wanna be.

We were in between somewhere, in route to Paris. Already behind the tight schedule we always had due to economic trip plannings. We were scheduled to reach Paris at 2pm, but because of Mr. A Junior and partly Mr. S, we missed a train [but the reason was also kind of unavoidable (food to be exact). After having lunch you can say, we set ourselves on course and we got on the very next train, Pariis at 5pm.

Mr. G (another classmate at IITB and interning in Reins near Paris) was also there to joining us for this trip.  He also arrived in Paris few hours before us. We reached the Paris nord station and both of them [Mr. A and Mr. G] were there to greet us, and our plan for that day was to visit a monument [The Sacre Basilica] , than nearby Varsille’s and rest should follow it for the day.
We reached at the basilica at around 5:30pm, stayed there till 6:30pm or so, then we decided to go to Mr. A hostel, to rest for the as we had a lot to walk for tomorrow. We reached his hostel at around 10:30pm, since entry for visitors is only allowed till 10pm, so we had to sneak in somehow.  A guy sits near the entry gate, so we needed a plan to distract him,. We decided that Mr. A and Mr. S junior (another intern from IITB), will distract him near the coffee machine and we will make a run for the stairs, plan worked and we were in Mr. A room, we had some dinner, watched some TV series/ movies and then went to sleep. All in all for me, it was a memorable day. I was in Paris, my dream city (one of the dream cities I want to see). I always wanted to be here, to see the Eiffel tower, the symbol of love in the west. People say that it feels totally romantic at Eiffel. I wanted to feel it myself, and tomorrow it will be fulfilled.

Day 28:  Discovering Paris… Louvre museum and Eiffel Tower

We woke up at around 9 am, and as u people know by now Mr. S was still asleep, hard to compete with him when it comes to arguing and sleeping. We ourselves got ready and  paining the others to do so asap. Finally by 10:15 we were all set to roll out, our plan was to first visit Louvre museum than to Eiffel, although we knew that we wouldn't be able to see the Louvre museum completely, our main aim was on seeing the paining of – Mona Lisa.  We travelled by Paris metro, reached the museum at 11am. Just seeing the entry gate (the famous glass pyramid), remembered from the movie –“ The vinchi code”, so mesmerizing . The museum is built in the castle made by Napoleon, it is world’s biggest museum till date. It has a total of 5+ levels, and the "Mona Lisa" is on 3rd

The museum receives a lot of crowd every day. It’s a beautiful place, a heaven for art lovers. We directly went to the 3rd level, and it took us around 2-3 hours to completely go around the 3rd level, we stayed at the "Mona Lisa" painting hall for a while, trying to wonder what is so amazing about it.  Don't get me wrong, its a very fine piece of art, but just couldn't understand what made it the best art work as said by many. Even for a person with no art taste, I thought the best art work will speak for itself, but I am still not having that feeling inside me. Maybe its best to leave art to the artists. Finally we left for Eiffel at around 2pm.

On the way we saw some other places and plazas, ate lunch and did some time pass till finally we reached at Eiffel around 5pm, “amazing”- that were my words when I saw it for the first time, it was my childhood dream to be here at Eiffel, a symbol of love and hope that love still exists in this world. It was a sight worth watching again and again, a dream come true for me. We bought the tickets and went up to the top flora, what a sight it was, the city looked like a pizza, cut in slices well designed and beautiful sight. It’s a place where u wanna be, believe me it’s true, the feeling u get when u are up there can’t be described in simple words, and when the sun goes down from Eiffel top, and if u have someone standing next to you [your love], I am sure you will not be able to resist a kiss there, for me it was not this case, still searching for the perfect one.

We stayed there up till 11pm [the time when they close], took the final elevator down. The tower was all lit and every night for an hour from 11pm to 12pm, all the light bulbs on the tower are blinked in a jiggling light show for 1 minute in every 15 minutes gap. The show and effect is amazing, love to see this sight again and again. We stayed at Eiffel, had our dinner just there only at a nearby snack shop, and set down in the garden just below Eiffel. As we always do, with memories of Amsterdam still afresh, Started playing cards. I know u won’t believe it, but it’s true. That was a night worth remembering, in my memory. I am gonna miss this day for as long as I am. I know there are places way beautiful than this, but the dream won’t be there. I hope to visit Paris someday again, preferably with my better half, to relive the dream again......

Now it was time to leave for home, no one really wanted to go back but its not what you want will happen always. We woke up early in the morning, are got fresh and straight to the station. This time it was only me, Mr. L and Mr. A Junior. Mr. S stayed there, to visit some more places for another day. Although he had to pay another 30 euros, for the change in journey date. We three reached the station (Paris norde)at around 10am, and we were scheduled to reach Copenhagen next day around 10am (24 hour journey, not a big deal for Indians). Again me and Mr. L directly went to the university from the Copenhagen central station. We came back early to home as we were tired (Much of our story on this intern I guess :P). We slept for as long as we can. This was one of the journey I will remember forever, a dream came true. Dreams is one thing I am full of, though some of them are less realistic, but who knows what lies ahead. See u tomorrow when I wake up from another dream...
