We Have A Plan: we always do.......

Day 6 to 13: Planning ……………

For the next 8 days, we didn’t do anything except planning for our Euro trips. Like what kind of Euro rail pass we should get. To be true we got lucky when the university decided to reimburse our airfares too, we were like stunned by this, an increase of 528 Euros’, unbelievable. This good news completely changed the situation. After this, we just said- Euro rail global pass 572 Euros’  without any hesitation. We were like the richest among all the interns from out batch in Europe and even in America or elsewhere. We got overall 4k Euros’ for about 2.5 months. That was way more than anyone else got. For example our friends in Inria got around 2.8k Euros’, people in Italy barely got anything. And people in Swiss got approximately as much as ours but they had a very expensive living place. So to be true we were the only ones’ richest in terms of money and holidays. We took most holidays (about 10 days excluding the weekends, in 2.5 months, over all we travelled for about  22 days including weekends) and still got hefty monthly wages, win-win on all fronts.
So when we got our first installment on 13th May, we directly went to the Copenhagen central station, and got 15 days in 2 months global Euro rail pass for ourselves. And on the next day we booked tickets for Amsterdam, paid our rent and the expenses for our monthly local transport pass for zone 1 & 2 and a 10 clip card for traveling in other zones.
In total we paid 2500 Danish krone for rent, 320 +120 Danish krone for transport expenses and 4168 Danish krone for Euro rail pass, and to add further paid about 50 Danish krone for the reservation to Amsterdam. Over all out of 7000 + 3968 Danish krone, we spent approximately 6700 Danish krone, and we had about 3400 Danish krone as account balance. All the money was deposited in our India account (for me and Mr. L) and in HSBC for Mr. S. We used our international debit cards for transactions.

Day 14: Trip to Klampenborg and unusual beach (never thought it can exist) …………

Mr. L and me decided to leave at 9am, Mr. S was not at home, he was at Mr. A's place (another junior form our college interning in University there), we called him and told about the plan, but he didn’t make it home in time so we left at 9:15am, and went to Desygard station (nearest local train station in our zone, there is one station Vangade but it was in zone 31, and we had a pass for zone 1 & 2 only).

We reached at the intermediate station Hellrup at around 9:45am, than we changed train from there, since there is no direct train to Klampenborg from Deseygard. We reached at Klampenborg station at around 10:20am, and we left for the deer century straight away, it is very close to the station. Our plan was to go to Hunting castle, then visit deer century, from there to the beach and in the end to Bekkan amusement park(oldest in Copenhagen), a short version of Tivoli.

But over plans got hit since we were unable to locate the Hunting castle for a while, we were just roaming around the century, we asked one of the workers there and he told us that Bakkan is just inside there only, it is just few hundred meters from the gate of the century. So we went there first, it was good, I tried one of the ride, some roller coaster kind of. Mr. L went for a water ride, and we also got an ice-cream since we were starving. After spending 1 hour in the park we left for the Hunting castle again. For the first time we Saw the deer in open, didn’t expected such things, but nevertheless there they are. It was quite an amazing experience. To be able to see the nature as it should be, not in the cage but outside of it. The century itself was pretty nice and scenic itself. Deer's roaming around and living freely unaffected by human exploitations, that's one thumbs up for it. Finally after roaming for a while, without any success in finding the castle, we decided to follow the trail of the horse carts, which are the mode of transport in the century. So we followed and in the end finally we reached to Hunting castle, and the view in front of my eyes was truly mesmerizing, the deer century proved even much better. Hundreds of reindeer's in the open, what a view, felt closest to the wild life. Truly Klampenborg is a place worth visiting, never miss an opportunity if you get one to visit there. We clicked some pictures there with reindeer's in background, also made a video. To be true this is the best place in Copenhagen.
We set there at Hunting castle for a while, watched the nature walk around us for some time, the sea line was also visible from there, so after waiting there for a while we left for the beach. We decided to follow the sea line, so that we don’t get messed up. We followed the same and clicked kept clicking pictures on the way. The sea side road is pretty straight and easy to follow, you can see the wind mills from almost everywhere along the sea line and major parts of the city. The famous cable bridge which connects Sweden and Denmark was also visible,  one of the the best coastal view I have ever seen. After walking for quite a while, we reached at the beach at around 2:30pm. We saw around for the usual, as you might have guessed, there was nothing much but one very beautiful and charming young lady, didn't got to interact with her but Mr. L as a habit, took a picture of her, we also clicked ourselves. Enjoyed there for a while, called home not to tell them where we were but just to get in touch with the family, as we didn’t called them for a while.
In the end we again came back to the Klampenborg station at around 4 0’clock, we reached back home around 5pm. We were quite exhausted by the long walk we had, so we made something to eat, surfed the net for a while, made plans for tomorrow , called Mr. S to know his where about, we planned to sleep early so that we can wake up early in the morning, its Monday after all.

As a routine, we uploaded all the photos on Picasa and Orkut before going to bed, chatted with few ones online, and then made to rest ourselves.

The Weekend Starts Early: Tivoli Ameusement Park and more....

Day 4: Tivoli park ……………………………………….

Now we started planning for our weekend trips, our plan was first cover Copenhagen in the initial weekends as we haven’t got the monthly pay yet, so can’t go out. We decided to make trips outside Denmark in June, first we thought of covering Copenhagen. We went to University, asked some people about the place we can visit here in Copenhagen. Then we finally went to Copenhagen central station for some information about the Euro-rail pass. Then we thought of finding a restaurant around there, as soon as we came out of station, we saw Tivoli park, reached there by chance, without any plans. We were looking for some food court around Kobenhaven H station and we ended up  at Tivoli amusement park.  To be true, Tivoli is an complete pack of fun and enjoyment for all, the rides there are cool and amazing, specially the Chinese style “The Demon” and the speed train, the gravity pole and the flyer was also good one…..

All an all it was amazing back there, we bought an multiple ride ticket, so went twice or even thrice on some of the rides, we spent around 6 hours at Tivoli, actually we reached Tivoli at 3pm, and it closes at 10pm, so that was the limit.
Then I went back home around 10pm. Mr. L and Mr. S went for dinner, they came back by 11pm, we were totally out of energy as usual, slept like a child that day too.

Day 5: 8th May, Copenhagen [Tour the city]………………………..

On our first Friday we planned to roam around the NÃ¥rrebro station, Friday is a half day in the university.  Me and Mr. L left from office together, Mr. S told us that he will meet us at Tandoori masala, the restaurant we went on day 2 near NÃ¥rrebro station, he went to the mosk there. But to no surprise to us, he told us he got lost. Went in the other direction from mosk. We waited till 2:30pm, than Mr. L and me decided to leave, without further waiting. We than first went to the kings garden, it is very close to the station, took some pictures. Then we went to the national museum, just saw it from outside, not interested in museums at all. Than from there we went to a church near the queen’s palace. It was beautiful, after visiting it, we went straight ahead to the queens palace. There was some shoot going on, don’t know for what. The queen’s palace has a big square in between. The palace is build around the square and a statue of some king in between the square.  Straight from there, you can see the Opera house. The palace is build near the canal. The view around the canal was amazing, everything looks so perfect, with careful attention and a great deal of planning to build things the way you see them. Truly Copenhagen is an perfect example of well planned and clean city. Everything looked so perfect about it, as we were in Bombay for three years, so when though of comparing them, simply one thing came in mind, you can’t.The lifestyle, the social norms, culture and more over how the system is, simply makes no sense to compare them at all.

We continued our journey along the canal, in between taking photos and looking around for spectacular view. After some time, we were a bit exhausted by the long walk we had, so we looked in the city map for the nearest metro station. But as we looked in to the map, we saw that we are very close to the navy headquarters, and it looked nice in the map [design of the headquarters]. So we thought that we are not gonna come this way any time soon, so let’s go there too. So we started walking again. Also we came to know that, one of the famous structures in Copenhagen the “Little Mermaid” is also situated there. On the way we also saw the statue of the Angel, and finally we reached the place where the main attraction the “Little Mermaid”. There were many people there, it was some crowed there. It is a great piece of artwork. Really loved the statue, specially the idea that, people do believe that they might exist somewhere in this vast sea. We took pictures of us standing next to the statue.
Finally, now came the time when we were like, totally out of motion as on the most days we went traveling to be true. No intention of moving an inch at all, but home is home, you need to return until unless you are not expelled from there. So we managed to reach the nearest metro station. Boarded the train and like hell, didn’t get a seat till 2 stops. We reached back home around 7pm, took a bath, and then the usual story, chatted with Mr. A for a while, I ate my dinner with them and after that Mr. L and me started uploading the pictures on the internet. Since tomorrow is out first weekend in the city, we made a plan to visit Klampenborg, a nearby town, very beautiful place; Mr. A had been there earlier so took their advice on how to go there and when to leave from home. Finally went to bed, with the ever growing infatuation with Copenhagen. I hope Klampenborg is as good as it says on the web. Good night and sweet dreams every one.
